Anna’s Mother’s Day Edit
One of Once’s founders and mum of two, Anna Stewart, shares the gifts she would love to receive on Mother’s Day.
Lidded Jar by Jynsym Ong, £150. Beakers by Grace McCarthy £30 each.
This Lidded Jar by Jynsym Ong is one of my favourite pieces at Once. Jynsym fires her work in a gas kiln or sometimes wood fired kiln which gives a beautiful finish to the pots. I also love these beakers by Grace McCarthy for their versatility, I would use them for tea and hot chocolates but also for snacks such as popcorn on movie night or crudités when the children need some vegetables!
These tea towels would bring a bit of sophistication to my otherwise chaotic kitchen, I know they are good quality linen and will last a long time - which is necessary in my house - and also feel reassured that the textiles at Once are made ethically and without damaging the planet.
Selection of French linen Tea Towels, £18
Rainbow Seed by Katherine Jones RA, £625
If there was an option to splash out (!) I would opt for this beautiful original print by artist Katherine Jones. It’s called Rainbow Seed and I love the subtle colours and the sense of earth / ground.
Lastly, both my son and I are quite obsessed with going to Japan and this Japanese-style Yodoke teapot would allow us to dream of drinking tea together in the Japanese mountains - until we can go there in real life!
