Hay, Heather, Rust by Rosie Ramsden
Hay Heather Rust is a collection of oil paintings by the artist Rosie Ramsden. The work was inspired by the poetry of Emily Dickinson, the quietly subversive nineteenth century writer. The result is a collection of vivid, emotive works of colour in landscape form.
Rosie Ramsden paints in oil and watercolour from her studio in North Yorkshire. Set within a rural landscape of distant woodland and long grasses, the studio's surroundings find their way into her work through layered paint and shifting colour. Hay, sage, rust, heather, acid yellow, peach and late-evening blue appear throughout her paintings, reflecting the ever-changing landscape beyond her window.
